People go on and on about this, how most stealthers are impossible to locate and all that.
You also hear about how the belt slot is useless to non-stealthers.

Here's a proposal that a number of people liked.

What if new belt items were made on the same lines as the stealth generators

MK1: +2 Spot +2 Listen
MK2: +5 Spot +5 Listen
MK3: +7 Spot +7 Listen Invisability purge, one use per day

I would also recommend downgrading the improved invisibility on the current hide belts to regular old invisibility, and limiting them to one per character. I've never seen anyone doing this, but in principle you could abuse the system by carrying around five of these, and switching out a new one into your belt slot every time you used the improved invisibility. This would give you more or less unlimited 50% conceal and the ability to invis yourself at will.

And unlike HIPS, this wouldn't even require an investment in hide, move silent, or dex, and can't be countered by spot/listen.

While we're on the subject of belts, are there any thoughts of putting other mental stats besides charisma on belts/cloaks? Like intelligence belts for techies or wisdom cloaks for spotters?

Then people would start carrying the invis purge belt around. I fail to see a reason to put an OOC limit on IC gear.

I'm already working on all of this; it would be in the module already, but I had a toolset error and lost all the work. I'll be going through it begrudgingly again and it should be in shortly.

It was my understanding that spell slot items aside the night vision goggles were illegal. DMs clarify?

We added the invisiblity to mimic the ability of the belt to create a stealth 'field' on the fly, so to speak. So you can vanish infront of somebody once per day, without the abuse of HIPS.

I agree that normal invisibility should be used. Since it takes a lot for even Sith/Jedi to get 50% concealment. Seems a bit much for everyone to have it.

Uh.... I have an idea... If the stealth belts are used for stealthers, then keep the HIPS on it that it use to, but make the belts only usable by stealth classes. Make other belts on top of the MK class belts that would be useful to other classes.

i actually like that idea make the belt only usable by sith assasin/their jedi counterpart scouts and bounty hunters it would limit the amount of ppl able to just poof in and out

tech specialists should be about as well the people that are able to use stealth shields, it has nothing to do with the force. I believe,
