Hey guys whats going, why has the server been dead empty for days? is something happening?

Well ah, nothing is "happening" besides disgruntle players. As you might of seen in the ooc topics. Dont threat! And more importantly, dont worry. We've had this "down time" before, but ya shouldnt worry much.

edit:I take that back... MOST servers have a "down time" like this.

A number of more active players trailed off in activity, and people tend not to log in when they see 0/40, because it tends to be boring wandering around a server alone (especially since its been that way for a week straight). In addition the DMs have been busy so there haven't been events to draw people in.

However, judging by the number of forum visits in the member list, there are still ~25 people checking the forums on a daily basis and ~50 people checking on a weekly basis. So there's still some interest, and things might pick up the next time an event is announced.

I've been busy with the physical world, and when I hit the computer I've been doing other stuff to avoid burning out on NwN.. Likely the same or similar stories you'd hear from the other players. I think Ave's right on this.. people wont want to log in when they see that zero. Really it's just an issue of someone taking initiative to hop in first. There have been several times recently where two or three people jumped in right after I did, which tells me that people are frequently checking the server numbers because they want to be playing here.

Obviously the fact that it has hit that 0/40 means that there's a decrease in activity, but it'll pick up.

I have been waiting to actually even see the server Online, and if it is my game is messed up... Either way try and get it Online or something >_>

So I'm curious to how everyone needs to put this server on a direct connect. As empty as it is now with the majority of the players leaving. How does it expect to have any new ones coming in? :s
I'm pretty sure nobody activly searches forums on NwN servers before the join it.

Delaying the inevitable?

The direct connect is mainly to allow people to join when the server doesn't show up when it's running, or for whatever reason someone can't find it in their client. Let's not fish for more drama, hm? Can we lock this thing? It's steering back in that tired old direction.
