X97 was created as a custom job for a bounty hunter named Regter during the Clone Wars. Regter needed a droid who could help keep his ship sustained, as well as helping him with his job, overall. 97 was also modified with a customizable blaster slot. While it may not have been an accurate shot, it was good for cover fire when Regter needed a distraction or other cover fire.

X97's custom job had him outfitted with many gadgets, but to reduce cost, not as many as most R2 units. His gadgets include: computer scomp link, holgraphic recorder (RPed through using Data Recorders), internal cargo compartment, electric arc welder, extending grasping claw, battery operated light emitter (RPed using Light Emitters), laser pointer, stun shocker (RPed using a Stun Baton), a hidden blaster, and most importantly, a learning module.

Regter didn't have 97 for long. He only went through a few missions before he was killed by Clone Troopers after Regter was hired by the Confederacy to kill one of their commanders. After that, 97 was taken in by the Republic and had it's memory wiped, atop it's adapted skills and learned tactics.

Following the Clone Wars and into the Reign of the Empire, Rebel soldiers found the droid and reactivated him. They then brought him in to work with them.

It'd be kinda weird to be zooming around as an R2 unit, then using a voice emote and being like "Hello to you". Everyone would be like "OMG! Droid just spoke!". lmao. ((I apologize if I sound impatient at all, and this is meant in the most positive way, ie. not to flame or anything, but I had posted this bio a week ago, but I've yet to get any form of response on whether I'd get permission to play it or not. I've been surprisingly eager to play this droid and RP, seeing as everything that would come out of the RP with this character, would be pure awesomeness in my mind. lol. Just wondered if I could get a small bit of clarification? Maybe even something saying it's being thought about or something. 8D

If it were up to me, it'd be done and dusted. You've got the backstory, you've got the equipment, you've got it's systems, hell you've even got the maker. You've got all the elements required for a successful RP character. But you'll have to wait for one of the head DMs (MD, Quix, Pug) to give the OK.
