Errors installing ship parts

I'm not clued up on the crafting system , but after loosing several guns, then this reactor I took a closer look at the dice rolls.

Skill at this time was 14 build & repair & 14 craft mechanical

Something seems to be off ,....as a side note if this is found to be a bug , could the item be replaced as 5k is a lot to lose when every other mission is a pirate vessel which also seem to be bugged as it gives no reward

if you roll a 1 on the craft you lose the part
if you make the build and repair you get the old part back lack of an old part it auto fails.

Yeah, but its rolling stuff like 15+15 vs dc 25 = fail. I think tis glitched up.

I've had the same prob;em with both shileds and engines. I don't think it's the system though because this psritcular glitch only happens with those two items from what I've seen.

I can't -have- an old part, because I can't install -any- parts into my ship. Because of the rolls.

I got this is well, clearly beating the dc's but it still says failure, lost about 10k on silly ship parts which other people can install but I cant -.-

i installed a ship part first try and i have 0 in those skills couldn't have been any easier also had the exact same part as in the picture

I bought a laser from the Jawa in Tat, it installed. I tried to install a power core and targeting computer from the shop on Kashyyyk, they failed to install despite a success in both B&R and Craft Mechanical. This is incredibly frustrating!

This isn't my department, sorry. If I made it so ships were plot, but dropable so other people could add 'em, would that help?

Well one thing Ive noticed is that some peoples deeds already are , in fact one of my alts had a dropable deed , but this chr hasent .

I even created this chr as a techie so I could have at least one pilot chr.

I added a device that can make deeds dropable, just ask a friendly neighbourhood DM to help you out in making it dropable after the next update. The deed items are set to dropable on a go forward basis, so any recently created characters wont have this issue.

There seems to be a second, unrelated issue (besides deed transfer issues) where, even one you get the deed the craft mechanics check gets screwed up and fails when it should succeed...
